Hello from Albuquerque!
It’s been a busy few weeks since I last wrote! I returned home from Ireland in mid-February to three feet of snow and 36 hours to swap out suitcases and catch up with the incredible musicians of Solas on the road at Wolf Trap in Virginia. It is a joy and an honor to share the stage with these guys every night. Quite literally my dream job.
We have two more dates in Colorado and one week on the east coast before the band takes a long break. solasmusic.com for information!
I am headed to the Pacific Northwest in late March and early April for a week of shows with two incredible musicians – Bethany Waickman (guitar) and Ryan Davidson (upright bass, bouzouki, vocals). Dates here!
I am thrilled to be among the faculty for the 2017 Sean-nós Northwest Festival. I’ll be teaching singing workshops as well as beginning bodhrán. It’s a great weekend – you should join us!
Those are the bullet points anyway. We’re off to Durango, Colorado tomorrow and my poor lungs are still getting used to the altitude. I’m going to climb into bed early, watch a bit of television, and get some sleep.
I hope you are all very well and happy! I’ll fill you in on the new garden in the next few months. 😉
